Remember when we used to take airplanes to far away places and stand next to hundreds of strangers all looking at famous sights? I miss that, and I bet you do too. My favorite thing is exploring a new city or country but like so many I’m unable to do it anytime soon. I’ve got my fingers crossed I can go somewhere on my travel bucket list in the fall.

I never thought I’d write a post about taking virtual tours of places around the world, but come to think of it, even without a pandemic, it’s fun to explore places we’ve never been. How amazing that we live in a time when we can appreciate the creative works of other travelers and enjoy their walking or aerial videos of all the fascinating places on earth.

I found these virtual tours on You Tube, none of them are narrated so they’re not like travel shows that have the distraction of a host. These virtual tours are walking, cycling, boating, or aerial shots of places around the world, many set to relaxing music. They all feel so special. These won’t curb your wanderlust, if anything they may stimulate your desire to go to these places, at least that’s the effect they had on me. These only scratch the surface of virtual tours that exist, I’ll have to round up more in a follow up post.

Click on the links above the images and they will take you directly to the You Tube videos where you can view a relaxing virtual tour of that part of the world.
